I guess I’ll be the outlier. I don’t disagree that SEO is the best medicine in most cases. For me, it’s page one above the fold on my laptop or it doesn’t count. However, we’re used PPC with a 4:1 ROI for very specific pre-sales lead generations. The conversion is in person but for every $50 spent we brought in at least $200 so that worked well for us.

Good report Julie. And let’s not forget another problem with paid advertising: when the ads stop, so does your traffic. Your business is dead in the water. Whereas organic listings go on for months or even years. Organic placement is by far the better investment.

I only like to use advertising as a support to organics, not as a primary source of traffic.
