When you’re looking for a restaurant in Sacramento, are you amazed to see a listing for 24 Hour Locksmith? Today, for the third time in a month, I stumbled across a highjacked listing.

Each time I researched who the original listing belonged to and called the restaurant. Most of the time, the person answering the phone has no idea what I’m talking about and has no idea who they should connect me with. They have been well trained as gate keepers, but their diligence is costing the restaurant over 3,000 qualified leads PER DAY! The free Google Keywords tool tells us that 90,000 people in Sacramento looked up restaurant Sacramento in the month of June. How many of them would have gone to the restaurant if they hadn’t thought that it was locksmith.

I did some further research by looking up Locksmith Sacramento and the news was bad. On the first page of the Google map, 6 out of 10 listings were phony – highjacked listings from restaurants and hotels, businesses that were located inside a state office building or hospital, businesses who were located in the fast lane of the freeway, a business that had 12 reviews and all of them were done on the same day.
